Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina fights hunger through a regional distribution warehouse and branches that supply food and grocery items to charitable agencies that assist people in need. They also provide training, technical assistance and hunger education to partner agencies.
CRISIS ASSISTANCE MINISTRY
Donate household items and financial assistance intended to help families in need during a short term crisis.
The mission of Crisis Assistance Ministry is to provide assistance and advocacy for people in financial crisis, helping them move toward self-sufficiency. The vision is to inspire the community to justice and generosity as they provide help, hope, and understanding to people struggling with limited financial resources.
HURRICANE KATRINA
Re-roofing Slidell, LA.
In an effort to to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina, we took a division of our company to Slidell, LA, purchased a home base for operations for a crew of six, and started working with individuals and their insurance companies to re-roof homes ravaged by the hurricane.

Feed the homeless.
We wanted to give back on a personal level to the homeless in honor of Chad’s 40th birthday. Chad has experienced both homelessness and hunger in his youth and acutely understands the epidemic. We cooked a whole hog and bagged 400 lunch bags with socks, lip balm, a hot BBQ sandwich, chips, and a bottle of water. Friends and family came together to prepare and then distribute to the homeless and hungry at the men’s shelter prior to the birthday celebration.
SOUTHERN IDEAL HOME SHOW
Awareness of fire safety and practical energy efficiency.
Coordinated with Southern Ideal Home Spring Show to design and build a home inside the arena in 7 days that featured the importance of fire safety in homes and practical energy efficiency. A portion of the money raised through ticket sales was used to build a new home for a family who had lost theirs in a house fire.
